FF1GP Race weekend in Bahrain

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

Yet another fantastic race in Bahrain. This race was a pure race as well. No safety cars, no rain, and no stupid rows about holes and planes on the back of cars either.

It looks like the F1 results are final, so the FF1GP Bahrain results are final as well.

Also a note about the Want to loose league. Seems I set the sorting order wrong at the begining of the season. It’s now fixed, big thanks to Jante the Team manager of Sunday Drivers Going Round in Circles for spotting the errror.

When I heard the Toyota’s was on the front row of the grid, I was expecting them to be fueled light. I was right there, but I didn’t expect Sebastian Vettel to be fueled quite so heavy, but it did make me think that he could win the race. In the end he came in 2nd, but I do believe he could had challenged Jenson for the lead. Maybe in the future we will see a Button Vs Vettel duel on the racetrack, and I bet it will be one duel to watch.

Also Kimi finally brought in some points for Ferrari, while Massa’s race was totally ruined by the lack of a working KER’s. This season is still a bad start for Ferrari, but I’m certainly not writing off Ferrari yet. Expect them to be strong in Spain next.

The next race is in 2 weeks time, in Spain, where I expect the order to be shuffled up, since a lot of the teams will be bringing in updates to their cars. That circuit should suit the KER’s cars as well, I’m sure there will be plenty of drivers pressing the button on the main straight. Since I am a Jenson Button supporter, I just hope that button won’t be label “Pass Button”.

However there is the FIA hearing on McLaren telling porky pies to the stewards in Australia. It seems clear the McLaren have already practically pleaded guilty, so it just seems to be a case of what the punishment will be. Whatever happens, it will probably have some effect on future FF1GP result, and I will post up the news on either Wednesday 29th April or Thursday.

Round 3 - Bahrain

Sunday, April 6th, 2008

Another race down, a strong comeback by Ferrari, and also a strong performance by BMW in Bahrain, it was a yet another cracking race to watch!

The next race is in Spain, which I have great memories from last year when I attended the race, along with quite few members of one of the leagues here. If you look closely pictures on the front page, 3 of the pictures where taken at the Spanish Grand Prix in 2007 by myself.

News from the FF1GP site, it’s running well. It looks like the small glitches from the 1st and 2nd round have been ironed out.

One question that I do get often from league owners one the lines of “Team X in my league has zero points, yet he got 34 points what’s going wrong?” First thing, it’s not a bug with the site. When you enter a league, it only counts points from the round you have entered the league before the day of the race. The reason for this is to stop team owners from jumping in and bringing their points to bump their place up the league.

However sometimes teams are a little late entering a league, and league owners want their points counted from the last race, or previous races. If you got a team that needs their points counted here is what to do.

1. View the team in question and decide which round their points should be counted from.

2. As the league owner, send an email to me (admin@ff1gp.com) with the league name, the team name, and which round you want the points counted from.

3. Once I get the email, I’ll adjust the team’s joining round and the league scores to reflect the points score.

In future, league owners will be able to adjust the joining round to a earlier round of a member.

See you all in Spain!
